On May 7, 2025, South Asia witnessed the largest aerial dogfight since the Gulf War. Over 125đ fighter jets from both India and Pakistan were engaged in a high-stakes air battle. This included India’s Rafale and Su-30MKI jets and Pakistan’s J-10C and F-16s.
The clash was triggered by India’s Operation Sindoor after a deadly terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir killed 26 civilians.
India used SCALP cruise missiles launched from Rafale jets to strike terror camps in Bahawalpur, Muzaffarabad, and Balakot. Reports confirmed the elimination of several top terrorists, including aides of Jaish-e-Mohammed leader Masood Azhar.
In response, Pakistan launched over 400 drones targeting Indian cities and military bases. India activated its S-400 ‘Sudarshan’ air defense system to intercept the drone swarms, followed by a successful SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defense) operation.
Several videos of the jet clash and drone strikes have gone viral. While many are authentic, some have been identified as fake or AI-generated.
